Year, State Incorporated:

HOPE International (HOPE) reports that it invests in families living in the world’s underserved communities while proclaiming and living the Gospel. HOPE does this through savings groups and microfinance. The organization's facilitators train groups of 10-30 members to pool their savings on a regular basis. HOPE reports that its members use their savings, or take out loans from the group, to use as a buffer against emergencies, make important household purchases, or invest in businesses, in addition to engaging in prayer and studying God's Word. The organization also reports to use the credit-led model, which allows microfinance institutions within the HOPE network to provide entrepreneurs with savings accounts and small loans, typically ranging from $200 -$5,000 to invest in their businesses.
