The Lamp Project meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
The Lamp Project provides structured continuity of care to individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship through consistent outreach, individualized support planning, barrier removal, and coordinated services that promote housing stability, employment, and long-term self-sufficiency.
Year, State Incorporated:
2025, TX
Program 1: Street Lamp Outreach
Street Lamp Outreach is a direct street engagement initiative focused on relationship-based continuity of care for individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship. The Lamp Project team meets individuals where they are physically and emotionally, building trust through consistent presence and follow up.
Through partnership development, including collaboration efforts with Harris Health, The Lamp Project works to improve access to healthcare, identification documents, case management, housing navigation, and other stabilizing services.
When individuals are open to support, The Lamp Project complete a structured baseline assessment to identify immediate needs, long term goals, and barriers to stability. From there, The Lamp Project develops an individualized plan of care tailored to each persons situation and walks alongside them through ongoing follow up and coordinated support.
The Lamp Project's goal is not one-time assistance, but measurable movement toward stability, dignity, and self sufficiency.
Program 2: Serve Days and Stabilization Support
Serve Days provide immediate relief and consistent presence within the community. The Lamp Project distributes food, clothing, hygiene items, weather appropriate supplies such as blankets, ponchos, sunscreen, and hydration support based on seasonal needs.
Beyond distribution, The Lamp Project's volunteers intentionally remain present, engaging individuals in conversation at food lines and community sites. When someone expresses readiness for deeper support, The Lamp Project conducts a baseline needs assessment and begin the process of developing a personalized stabilization plan.
Serve Days function as both emergency relief and an entry point into longer term continuity of care services.
