The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis provides access to post-secondary education to those who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals. Operating on a nondiscriminatory basis, the Scholarship Foundation provides direct financial assistance to applicants with significant financial need who demonstrate satisfactory academic progress and good character and are the St. Louis Metropolitan statistical area as well as a number of other communities in Missouri and Illinois. Annually, the Scholarship Foundation awards grants and interest and fee-free loans in excess of $5 million to approximately 500 students. Additionally, the Scholarship Foundation serves more then 5,000 students who are planning postsecondary education or those who are currently pursuing technical, associate, bachelor, graduate, and professional degrees. The Foundation provides guidance and assistance to students and families navigating the financial aid process by conducting free public workshops and placing Student Advisors in schools in need of college advising resources and have a high proportion of students from low-income backgrounds. The Scholarship Foundation also offers college preparation and persistence support, academic advising, access to fellowships, and financial support for mental health care.”
