The mission of HCHD Foundation is to enhance the broad healthcare mission of the Harris Health System by soliciting and raising funds for programs, and increasing the community’s awareness of the Harris Health System.

Established in 1992, the Harris County Hospital District Foundation (HCHD Foundation) has raised in excess of $47 million for Harris Health System. The Foundation stages a number of events each year benefiting Harris Health Programs and services and raising community awareness of the Harris Health System outreach to the healthcare of uninsured and under insured members of the community through the work of Ben Taub Hospital, LBJ Hospital and the ambulatory clinics. The Foundation also gives grants to various areas of Harris Health and the Harris County community.  Harris Health programs and services, include, but are not limited to the following:  cancer care and screenings, neonatal programs and equipment, nursing leadership and education, employee disaster relief, trouble shooters mobile immunization program, mobile mammography program, mobile dental program, Smith Clinic Capital Campaign, 2nd Capital Campaign (named Incredible Outcomes) for the 1st floor renovation of the Ben Taub Hospital Level I Trauma Center (Ginni and Richard Mithoff Trauma Center).
