Goodwill's focus is to develop a workforce of a special needs population that is ready, willing and able to be productive in viable, "real work for real pay" jobs that range from piece labor to entry level to
supervisory/ management positions.
Goodwill is committed to continuing to provide services for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, and to being a partner with Houston's business community. This connection, both to the special needs people being served, and to the business community gives rise to Goodwill's "Job Connection." Job Connection services include GTS (Goodwill Temporary Services), Business Skills, Placement Services, and Job Coaching/ Retention/Mentoring Services.
In
2016, Goodwill Houston grew from 1,985 employees in 2015 to 2,202 in 2016.
Through 7 job connection centers, employees served more people than ever
before. Goodwill Houston presently offers 15 programs to its local community.
With these programs in place, Goodwill was able to serve 12,682 individuals
with job-related needs.
Goodwill Houston also currently partners with over 45 local non-profits and foundations.
