Forgotten Harvest rescues donated food from about 500 agriculture and food businesses across the food supply chain (growers, processors and manufacturers, distributors, and retailers from small family-owned markets to large grocers and entertainment venues) and distributes that nutritious food free-of-charge via about 200 partner agencies to people facing food insecurity. Last year, FH distributed over 40 million pounds of healthy food. Examples of FH programs that support FH’s work include: FH Farms (a 90+ acre farm growing produce for distribution to the people FH serves); Healthy Food Healthy Seniors; FH On-the-Go mobile pantries; Harvest Heros (volunteer food rescue team from smaller food donors); and FH children’s meal sites and school pantries.
