Coalition For The Homeless of Houston meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.

CFTH is the designated coordinator of The Way Home, a network of over 100 service providers. Through housing paired with stability services—such as employment programs and mental health support—CFTH ensures that individuals experiencing homelessness receive the resources they need to regain self-sufficiency and maintain stable housing.

The Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County (the”Coalition“) serves those who serve the homeless and acts as a “backbone
organization” providing support and coordination for the community  response to homelessness. In this role, the Coalition guides improvement
of Houston’s homeless service system, develops comprehensive strategies that address root causes of homelessness and provides for better
infrastructure to prevent and reduce homelessness by aligning community resources and offering support to over 200 homeless service agencies.

The goal of the Coalition is the creation of a homeless service system that achieves reduction in new instances of, length of, and returns to
homelessness and meets the varying needs of homeless sub-populations such as unaccompanied youth, veterans, and families with children.
Significant responsibilities of the Coalition include serving as the Lead Agency in coordinating the metropolitan area’s Continuum of Care
for those who are homeless, the Homeless Management Information System that captures community-wide homeless data, and the annual Homeless
Census and Needs Assessment program that guides strategic, collaborative and systemic improvements to service programs for Houston’s homeless.
The Coalition also manages the collaborative application to secure an allocation of $24 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development for Houston’s homeless service providers and oversees system wide programs such as Community Voice Mail, Homeless Court, and an
Information and Referral helpline.
