Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston programs nurture and care for children through children’s shelters, foster homes, and education for pregnant mothers and parents of young children.  We strengthen families by preventing hunger and homelessness through food pantries and financial assistance for rent and other basic needs, through counseling, and through disaster recovery programs.  We support refugees and immigrants through refugee resettlement and immigrant legal assistance.  And we promote independence for seniors and veterans.  These programs meet the needs of more than 150,000 people each year, who are welcomed without regard to religious affiliation or national origin.
