Operation Healing Forces meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
"to serve the needs of America’s wounded, ill, injured, and fallen Special Operations Forces service members, veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors through a suite of programs that promote long-term mental, physical, emotional, and fiscal well-being."
Year, State Incorporated:
2011, FL
Operation Healing Forces (OHF) reports that it enables war-torn men and women to break through the silence to openly discuss their battlefield and personal hardships through therapeutic retreats. OHF works to achieve its mission through its two program areas: the SOF (Special Operations Forces) couples retreat program and the Special Operations Additional Resources (SOAR) Immediate Needs program. The organization states that its couples retreat program provides a safe environment that allows participants to let their guard down and share. The retreat environment, combined with peer-to-peer counseling and recreational therapies, enables bonding between couples, with spouses going through similar hardships, and among fellow SOF members. OFH's SOAR program provides direct crisis support to SOF and their families which covers travel and expenses related to medical emergencies; medical and adaptive equipment not covered by the government; funeral and memorial costs not covered by the government; financial assistance related to transition or employment opportunities; and emergency financial support for mortgage, rent, electricity, food, and other essential living costs.
For the year ended December 31, 2023, Operation Healing Forces's program expenses were:
