The Blue Card (BC) provides financial assistance to needy Holocaust survivors through a number of programs, include ongoing support and one time grant assistance. The emergency cash assistance program provides cash grants to help survivors afford medicine, rent, homecare, food and other basic essentials, as well as urgent dental and medical help. The Telephone Emergency Response System (TERS) program provides phone systems to Holocaust survivors who do not have the financial resources to pay for installation, service, and maintenance. The monthly stipend, Jewish Holiday, and Mazel Tov Birthday programs deliver ongoing support for those who need it most. BC reports that Tech Friendly Aging Programs continue to play a role in survivors' wellbeing. The Companion Pets program helps bring comfort and happiness to the older population with interactive cats and dogs that replicate the look, sounds and feel of real pets. BC reports that is served over 3,000 Holocaust survivor households in 35 states across the country.
