Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
"to accelerate the development of new treatments and ultimately a cure for pulmonary fibrosis."
Year, State Incorporated:
2000, CO
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) reports that it works to improve patient care and provides support and education resources for individuals diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, caregivers, family members, and health care providers. PFF's programs include the PFF Care Center Network, PFF Registry, PFF Scholars, PFF Help Center, PFF Ambassadors, PFF Summit, disease education materials, a webinar series, and support groups. The PFF Care Center Network connects medical centers throughout the United States that specialize in treating fibrotic lung diseases. The PFF Registry is a nationwide research program that encapsulates two databases: the PFF Patient Registry and PFF Community Registry. Combined, the two databases provide data on patients diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis or interstitial lung disease, as well as their caregivers and biological family members. The PFF Ambassador program seeks to empower patients and caregivers to speak for the pulmonary fibrosis community and promote disease awareness. The organization also funds research through the PFF Scholars program to support early-career investigators with the goal of advancing research that could translate into successful therapies for pulmonary fibrosis. The PFF Summit is a biennial international health care conference on pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung disease with a goal of fostering a collaborative environment to improve education and awareness of pulmonary fibrosis and identify new approaches to treat and cure the disease.
