Stated Purpose
"to promote death with dignity laws based on our model legislation, the Oregon Death with Dignity Act, both to provide an option for dying individuals and to stimulate nationwide improvements in end-of-life care."
Death with Dignity National Center (DDNC) serves a variety of stakeholders, including patients and family members, medical providers, donors, legislators, and advocates with provision of funding, expertise, resources, information, training, and referrals, focused on end-of-life care issues and decision-making. DDNC's priorities include promoting existing death with dignity laws, expanding freedom of terminally ill individuals to choose a dignified death, partnering with state grassroots coalitions, and mounting legal defenses when necessary to defend existing aid-in-dying legislation.
