Also Known As:
Children's Haven
Children's Haven reports that it offers prevention and support programs for children who have experienced abuse or neglect or are living in unstable circumstances. The organization seeks to ensure each child's safety, advocate on their behalf, respond to their specific needs, and eliminate barriers to opportunity. Children's Haven programs include Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Wellstar Family Visitation Center, Prevent Child Abuse Cherokee (PCA Cherokee), and the Chin Up! Mentorship Program. CASA supports court-appointed community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Wellstar Family Visitation Center aims to offer a safe, comfortable, home-like environment for children placed in foster care to visit with their parents, siblings, and extended family while they are not living together. PCA Cherokee exists to increase public awareness and implementation of programs and practices that prevent child abuse and neglect by developing trainings, educating the community, and connecting families to needed resources. Chin Up! Mentorship Program is a site-based mentorship program for teens involved in juvenile court and/or teens experiencing foster care. The organization reports that each teen is paired with an adult mentor, building relationships based on trust and support while attending monthly life skills classes.
