Shoes and Clothing for Kids meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Shoes and Clothes for Kids (SC4K) provides complete outfits of school wear for students K-8. The organization reports distributing only brand-new items, including quality clothing basics such as socks, underwear, t-shirts, pants, and winter coats. SC4K also reports leveraging its connections and buying power to purchase new clothing at closeout prices, along with shoe store gift cards, which recipients can then use to select the size and style of shoes that best fit their needs. The organization distributes these items through a network of vetted neighborhood partners throughout Greater Cleveland, focused in areas with high densities of children living at or below at least 185% of the federal poverty level. SC4K partner organizations hold distribution events throughout the year for families in need and help connect families with other important programs and services, including food pantries, GED education programs, resale shops, job placement, Head Start, daycare, and health care. In 2019, SC4K reports distributing more than $6.6 million worth of new items to kids in the community.
