World Animal Protection (WAP) reports that it works to end factory farming and wildlife exploitation through the expansion of animal-free alternatives and policy changes towards the ownership of wild animals and their use in entertainment and fashion. In 2023, the organization states that it helped end the sale of guinea pigs in New York City, started the petition to shut down the Miami Seaquarium, and launched Wildlife Heritage Areas, which identified global destinations where local communities are actively working to protect wild animals and their habitats.
