Also Known As:
Youth For Christ Fort Wayne Area Youth for Christ, Inc.
Ft. Wayne Area Youth for Christ (YFC) is one of the strongest of 160 ministry centers in the United States and involves over 7,000 students in its annual programs. The Youth for Christ national movement began in 1944 and arrived in Fort Wayne seven years later in 1951. Fort Wayne Area Youth for Christ has three main programs; Campus Life, City Life, and its' Juvenile Justice Ministry. The Campus Life programs offer hope, encouragement, and love to teenagers living in a turbulent culture. It is during this period that YFC staff reveal Biblical truth as it relates to daily living. Campus Life directors work with local teachers, counselors, administrators, youth pastors and parents in hopes of developing positive support networks for young people. Our City Life ministry provides a holistic model of reaching students in the inner city. Our programs are designed to help students in economic literacy, education requirements, spiritual and moral literacy, basic health and safety issues, and civic literacy. This all happens in a relationship-building context at our Primetime facility. The Youth for Christ Juvenile Justice Ministry (JJM) works closely with the area youth correctional facilities offering teenagers hope and a second chance from their past mistakes. YFC helps equip them with the tools to make better choices and establishes a solid foundation for their future.
