WINGS Program, Inc. meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
                            The mission of WINGS Program, Inc. is to provide housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence.

 WINGS comprehensive services/programs include the following:
• The suburban Safe House and Safe House at WINGS Metro give abused adults and their children emergency housing while they determine the steps necessary to move forward with their lives. The Safe House is the only domestic violence shelter in northwest Cook County, Illinois – an area whose population exceeds 1 million.
• WINGS Housing Programs: Last year WINGS Housing Programs provided housed guests with case management, therapeutic counseling, budgeting and career assistance, permanent housing options, legal advocacy, relationship building, parenting skills and links to community services:
o Shared Living homes accommodate two or three families in a single residence. Families may live in the homes at no cost for up to six months. WINGS operates three shared living homes.
o WINGS Transitional Housing, where participants pay 30% of their adjusted gross income to offset expenses. Families stay in WINGS leased transitional apartments for up to two years. WINGS 25 transitional apartments and one single-family house.
o The Individualized Transitional Housing Program offers survivors 24 months of support to live in homes of their own choosing. With grant funding, WINGS is able to provide 100% of the families’ rent up to $1,000 for the first 12 months and up to $500for the remaining 12 months.
o Permanent Supportive Housing provides eight long-term residences with optional support services to individuals who have documented disabilities that affect theircapacity to earn a steady income.
o New - 110 Rapid Rehousing units: In collaboration with other local agencies WINGS has received 100 Rapid Rehousing units citywide to decompress domestic violence shelters which have seen increased need and 10 units in Northwest Cook County.
• In addition to housing, WINGS offers Community Based which meet survivors where they are at with vital information and resources. These services include:
o Hospital Partnerships that provide bedside safety planning and counseling to survivors disclosing abuse as well as trainings to medical professionals on how to best screen patients for abuse.
o ALAS which provides volunteer mentors for Latinx clients.
o Project Lifeline which is a community mentoring program for WINGS graduates.
o New – Survivor Lifeline: Launched Spring 2021, this program provides survivor mentors to clients moving from domestic violence shelters in Rapid Rehousing units. Forming a connection to a mentor with shared experiences, clients are linked to resources, assisted with budgets to maintain housing and supported in their career aspirations.
• The Children & Family Services program provides individualized counseling and case management services for the children who reside in WINGS housing to break the cycle of violence. Each child in WINGS Safe Houses and Housing programs are linked with a Children’s Advocate who provides counseling including art therapy classes, playgroups and social activities with other families.
