Village Community Center meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
Village Community Center is a place of loving fellowship, established primarily to mentor youth in the Metro Louisville area at large. Secondly, it sees holistic development and maturity of each person, such that the impact on the community is a socially enhanced, safer, better educated, and economically empowered environment.
Year, State Incorporated:
2018, KY
Village Community Center offers the following programs and services to at-risk populations such as youth, the homeless, and low-income families. The Job Assistance & Mentoring (JAM) program offers youth ages 16 and up and adults the following: career counseling, resume writing, opportunity identification, assessment assistance, letters of employment/referrals, job readiness preparation, transportation assistance, candidate support, and new skills/competencies development training. The Soup, Soap & Socks Mobile Pantry (SSS) program was created to address some of the most basic necessities of at-risk populations in Louisville and specifically, the homeless and low-income households in the community. The mobile pantry’s focus is to provide directly to those in need something to eat, something for personal care, and something to wear. Village Community Center understands that basic needs go beyond the items listed above, so it may offer toys for children, coats, literature containing helpful resources regarding social services, homeless shelter locations, housing information, veterans’ services and healthcare options.
