United Way of New York City helps to mobilize our communities to break down barriers and build opportunities that improve the lives of low-income New Yorkers for the benefit of all.

1 in 4 New Yorkers does not have enough income and earnings to pay for basic necessities. United Way of New York City (UWNYC) wants to changes this. UWNYC is fighting poverty by working to make sure low-income people get the support services they need right now, while simultaneously driving real, system-wide change in the their community. UWNYC focuses on education, income stability and health - the building blocks of a good life. UWNYC also works to build the capacity of local nonprofits to enable them to deliver high quality services.
