Year, State Incorporated:
2014, KY
Second Hope offers a range of impactful programs to support men currently incarcerated at Dismas Charities. Its curriculum features a class on Purpose Driven Life and a 25-lesson course based on the steps and principles of Celebrate Recovery, with weekly sessions. In addition, the nonprofit has the privilege of taking participants to Celebrate Recovery meetings on Fridays and church services on Sundays. Upon their release, Second Hope invites these men to transition into Second Hope house, where they are encouraged to pursue a Christ-centered recovery journey. For those who choose to join, it provides essential support as they reintegrate into society, assisting with vital needs such as securing identification, Social Security cards, health insurance, phones, and employment. While living in the house, residents must follow specific guidelines and attend a set number of weekly meetings. Second Hope offer various recovery and faith-based meetings, including Celebrate Recovery, Alcoholics Anonymous, and church services. The program lasts a minimum of six months, and upon completion, the nonprofit works closely with participants to prepare them for the next step in their journey toward full rehabilitation.
