Also Known As:

Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity has assisted more than 300 families in El Paso County with affordable housing needs (as of Dec. 2024), and six new homes were built with three more in progress to be completed by July 2025. Pikes Peak Habitat services 80 mortgages for local Habitat homeowners including 64 mortgages held by Pikes Peak Habitat. In FY25 (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025) we are planning for 50 repair projects to assist El Paso County households. Many of those repair projects are part of CAPABLE - The Community Aging in Place, Advancing Better Living for Elders program - “a client-directed home- ased intervention to increase mobility, functionality, and capacity to ‘age in place’ for older adults.” Pikes Peak Habitat works in coordination with occupational therapists and nurses to provide structural improvements such as grab bars or flooring repair to older adults’ homes or apartments so they can continue to live at home safely. Net proceeds from our two Pikes Peak Habitat ReStores (discount building supply stores) help support our programs. The stores accept tax-deductible donations of new and slightly used building supplies, windows, sinks, cabinets, and furniture and sell items at discounts 50%-70% below retail.
