in 1970, Paraquad transforms systems and empowers individuals with disabilities to live and work independently. We offer more than 20 program areas to
serve people of all ages and with all types of disabilities.

Serving the St. Louis metropolitan area, Paraquad’s legislative advocacy and programs make us one of the most influential and innovative organizations in the Midwest in the effort to end inequality and discrimination for people with disabilities. Paraquad also features the newly named and renovated Stephen A. Orthwein Center (formerly the Paraquad Health and Wellness Center), a specialty fitness center with a variety of services to support one’s comprehensive exercise needs. Whether one is leaving a rehabilitation center or working on fitness, our staff of experienced Adaptive Exercise Specialists can help. We work with people with disabilities and older adults to achieve a variety of cardiovascular, strength, and mobility goals. We feature unique exercise equipment, including a body-weight support treadmill and a functional electrical stimulation cycle, as well as adapted cardiovascular and strength training equipment.
