Marklund’s signature programs include the: Residential Program, Community Day Services Programs and Marklund Day Schools.
Residential Services: Marklund’s residential facilities are located in Geneva and Elgin in Illinois. In Geneva, 96 residents ages 18 and above live in six- 16 bed homes. They are supported by staff 24/7. Our
Elgin facility serves individuals with medical complexities and developmental disabilities. The center serves 85 children and adults.
Community Day Services: Marklund’s Community Day Services (CDS) program, is an adult day program. Programming is provided Monday – Friday for residential and community clients from 9AM- 2:30PM. The program focuses on life-skills, pre-vocational skills, and community outings. The CDS Program is offered in Elgin and Geneva.
Bridge Builder: Marklund’s Bridge Builder Community Day Services (CDS) program is an Adult Services therapeutic learning and training program that assists individuals with developing new skills and
enhancing personal interests and strengths as they pursue independent, fulfilling futures. This unique program offers comprehensive supports to help participants grow in areas such as communication,
socially adaptive behaviors, functional living, and supported employment skills. It is specifically designed for adults with developmental, intellectual and/or disabilities over the age of 18. During program hours, individuals work on refining social skills and self-awareness, as well as skills they need in everyday life, such as financial management and activities of daily living. This program is located at the Nathan Education Center in Elgin.
Marklund Day School: The Marklund Day School, is a non-public, State Board of Education, licensed therapeutic day program. We currently partner with 38 local school districts to serve children ages 3
through 21 with multiple medical needs, learning, emotional and developmental disabilities, and those on the autism spectrum. Students are referred to the day school by their home school districts when the district can no longer accommodate the students physical, behavioral or medical needs. We have locations in Bloomingdale, Elgin and Geneva.
