Stated Purpose:
To facilitate change in the lives of people and to challenge organizational systems for the purpose of improving the change process.

Year, State Incorporated:
1972, IN

PACT provides programs that encourage offenders to take responsibility for their actions, involve the victim in the criminal justice process, address community needs, work toward community safety and provide cost effective alternatives to incarceration. Through PACT’s Criminal Service Restitution/Community Work Crew program, the court sentences adult and juvenile offenders to provide unpaid work to public and non-profit organizations instead of a jail sentence. PACT staff provides Corrections Classes for offenders such as “Thinking for a Change,” “Prime for Life,” intensive alcohol and drug programs, and men’s non-violence classes. Through PACT’s Criminal Victim Assistance program, it contracts with prosecutors to provide an advocate who monitors court cases and notifies victims of their rights while assisting them through the criminal justice process. PACT’s Domestic Violence Shelter provides a safe residence for victims of domestic violence and their children. This program also offers a 24-hour crisis line and weekly support groups for domestic violence victims. PACT’s Victim Outreach services has six satellite offices where victims can walk in for supportive services, safety planning and danger assessments. Through PACT’s Community Transition program, staff develop and monitor case plans for offenders eligible for this legislatively sanctioned reentry program. PACT also provides many Youth Services, such as Juvenile Day Reporting Program, alternative school programs, Life Skills Classes, and case management services. These programs are designed to help at risk teenagers from dropping out of school.
