Heartshare meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
Heartshare champions and empowers New York Citys most overlooked and underestimated by promoting health and well-being, creating stability, and unlocking futures.
Year, State Incorporated:
1914, NY
For over 150 years, Heartshare has championed access and inclusion for vibrant New York City communities facing systemic barriers. We support two primary populations: children and families navigating the child welfare system, and people of all ages with developmental disabilities.
Heartshare St. Vincents Family Services transforms 9,000 lives each year. Through resources to stabilize families, housing that supports people based on their needs, formal education in schools, college and career counseling, and a wide range of wellness and healing solutions for people of all backgrounds.
Heartshare Developmental Disability Services transforms the lives of over 2,500 people with developmental disabilities each year. Through housing that supports people based on their needs, formal education in schools, meaningful employment for those who want to work, and resources that provide financial relief for families.
No matter the circumstances, Heartshare fosters well-being, self-belief, and independence- helping to build a future where every New Yorker is heard, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.
