Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.

Stated Purpose:
"Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity (GWHFH) builds strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.  Our mission is to work in partnership with community partners and families in-need to build simple decent homes and provide homeownership opportunities to the most marginalized families.  GWHFH is recognized as an affiliate Habitat for Humanity International, which has built over 2,000,000 homes worldwide through the work of 1,300 U.S. affiliates and affiliates in 70 countries throughout the world."

Year, State Incorporated:
1987, CO

Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity (GWHFH) has demonstrated significant community support and investment in providing quality, affordable communities for Northern Colorado residents in the past 35 years. While some of GWHFH’s “village” developments are on a smaller scale, all have provided the affiliate land development experience to build subsequent larger-scale projects. In 2019 GWHFH continued to build on its larger-scale community development model. In the City of Evans, GWHFH and Commonwealth Companies developed Mission Springs, a 95-unit affordable co-developed community. Commonwealth Companies is the nation's seventh-largest multi-family cheap housing developer/builder/long-term operator. By demonstrating the capacity to develop quality, well-built development “village” projects, Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity has continued to build a collation of partners from the private sector, government, financial institutions, and community members, which further increases the capacity and ability to develop more projects like Mission Springs and further tackle the affordable housing crisis in Colorado. GWHFH’s newest housing community, Hope Springs, is underway with civil construction in south Greeley. Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity (GWHFH) is the lead owner/developer/builder of Hope Springs and will build 174 paired and single-family homes at Hope Springs. Hope Springs was intentionally designed with the most efficient land use practices, including small-format housing, smaller lot sizes, active streets, front porches, and alleys. Hope Springs will include a planned on-site childcare center, a planned state of the art mini-pitch soccer field, and open space areas. The project is within a five-minute walk to existing grocery stores and in close proximity to existing retail stores and restaurants, as well as public transportation  The project is also within a 10-minute drive to the new Greeley West IB High School. GWHFH’s impact is not just limited to developing quality, affordable communities and homes.  In the fall of 2016, GWHFH, in partnership with Greeley-Evans School District 6, created the Construction Pathway Program (CPP) serving Jefferson High School students in northeast Greeley. This innovative youth workforce trade program has been outstandingly successful and was the first of its kind partnership between a Habitat for Humanity affiliate and a local school district.  The CPP students work alongside industry partners, Habitat corporate/business volunteers, and other community partners while incorporating their core curriculum for graduation and earning dual college credit from Aims Community College.  To date, the CPP students have built onsite over 40 homes.
