Critically Loved meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
Critically Loved exists to provide hope and guidance to families with critically and chronically ill children.
Year, State Incorporated:
2017, KY
Critically Loved is a nonprofit providing hope and guidance to families of chronically and critically ill children. Founded in 2015 by Executive Director, TyiaLynn, whose daughter is diagnosed with life-threatening internal bleeding, the need for special needs families to receive support became very evident as she struggled to manage her daughter’s health. By partnering with 70 pediatric health providers and other nonprofits, Critically Loved helps families navigate a difficult road. It provides support practically, with guidance relating to school, medical bills, and health insurance. It provides support emotionally by meeting one-on-one with parents, with professional counseling, and at events to help connect families to one another. It provides support spiritually by offering group support at local churches and via zoom. Critically Loved also has a focus in child abuse prevention and Inclusion Education, where typical children learn to appreciate differences among their special needs peers. Since the families Critically Loved serves are already overwhelmed with medical bills and time off work to care for their child, it never charges families for any of its services.
