Year, State Incorporated:
1992, KY
Catholic Charities of Louisville responds to the needs of Louisville and Central Kentucky through a variety of programs which seek to welcome, empower, and strengthen the individuals, families, and communities it serves. It welcomes by extending resettlement services, statewide administration of federal funds for refugees, and legal services through its Migration and Refugee Services, Kentucky Office for Refugees, and Immigration Legal Services programs. It empowers by offering interpreters and translations, culinary arts training, community gardening, and parish collaborations through its Language Services, Common Table, Common Earth Gardens, and Advocacy and Education programs. It strengthens by providing direct aid to families in need, servicing victims of human trafficking and training first responders, counseling and educating expecting and new parents, advocating for residents in long-term care facilities, and assisting with re-entry through its Sister Visitor Center, Bakhita Empowerment Initiative, Mother-Infant Care, Long-Term Care Ombudsman, and Prison and Jail Ministry programs. These services are the extension of Catholic Charities of Louisville’s Mission and Values, which emphasize the dignity of every human being and ensure services are provided to those in need regardless of race, religion, or socio-economic background.
