The Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana serves children/adults/veterans affected by seizures/epilepsy. Services provided are designed to educate, advocate, and support individuals with epilepsy throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana. It provides comprehensive educational materials. It also provides seizure recognition/first aid training to thousands of school personnel, school nurses, first responders, healthcare workers, daycare workers, senior organizations, veterans, employers, students, parents/caregivers, and other members of the general population each year. It provides an art therapy program for adults, two monthly support groups for adults, a monthly youth activity group, case/crisis management, and consultations. Assistance is also given to clients via social service programs and referrals to prescription assistance programs, legal services, utility assistance, landlord/tenant assistance, and SSI/SSDI assistance. The Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana also offers its signature Operation Outreach program to veterans to assist with issues associated with post-traumatic epilepsy, psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
