Last Hope Animal Rescue meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
To reduce the tremendous cat and dog overpopulation problem on Long Island, encourage responsible and economical pet ownership, and transform the public image of the typical pound animal.

Last Hope strives to rescue abandoned and stray animals. The organization offers low-cost spay/neuter fees for dogs and cats at local participating veterinarians, low-cost pet vaccination clinics at different locations in Nassau and Suffolk counties, early neutering of all kittens and puppies as well as regular neutering of all adult animals adopted through their programs. Last Hope participates in feral cat trapping and promotes adoption programs that seek to place the dog or cat in caring, responsible and financially solvent homes. The organization also conducts community outreach and public awareness campaigns to make the public knowledgeable about the cat and dog overpopulation problem
