Blue Ridge Wildlife Center (BRWC) is a wildlife hospital, education center, and professional training facility based in Boyce, Virginia. The organization reports that it provides comprehensive medical care and rehabilitation to approximately 4,000 injured, orphaned, and ill native wildlife patients annually, with the goal of returning healthy animals to their natural habitats. BRWC operates a public wildlife hotline, responding to more than 40,000 inquiries each year and providing guidance to individuals encountering wildlife. BRWC’s education programs serve thousands of community members annually through in-person programs, virtual webinars, and outreach initiatives designed to reduce human-wildlife conflict and prevent injury to native species. As a training facility, BRWC provides hands-on professional development for students and early-career wildlife professionals, helping to address workforce needs in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation.
