“Oasis promotes healthy aging through lifelong learning, active lifestyles, and volunteer engagement opportunities.  Lifelong learning programs cover a wide range of topics based on participants’ needs and interests.  Topics include history, current events, technology, arts and humanities, and finance, among others.  Oasis health programs keep older adults active, fit and healthy as they age.  Evidence-based programs include fall prevention and chronic disease self-management. Additional health programs include nutrition, exercise, mental health and general health promotion.  Oasis’ largest volunteer program is Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring, which pairs older adult volunteers with students in grades K-3 who are struggling to read at grade level.”
