Cultivate meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
"To help seniors flourish through active engagement with their community."
Year, State Incorporated:
1972, CO
Also Known As:
Boulder County RSVP Board, Inc.
Cultivate provides safety net and community outreach services, which provide participants access
to transportation, nutrition, healthcare, personal safety and home maintenance
while ensuring their independence and quality of life.
The Carry-out Caravan
program connects members of the community with seniors who face the challenge
of securing reliable access to groceries. Volunteers provide caring assistance
throughout the entire process of ordering, purchasing and delivering groceries
from their partner, King Soopers, straight to seniors’ homes.
The VetsGo program connects members of the community with senior
veterans 60+ (and their family members who are 60+) who face the challenge of
obtaining reliable transportation to and from their medical appointments. Volunteers
pick up senior vets (or their family members who are 60+) and escort them to
and from medical appointments, including to VA facilities, in and beyond
Boulder County.
The Fix-It program connects members of the community with
seniors who face the challenges of maintaining their home. Skilled volunteers
promote safety and provide friendly interactions by visiting seniors’ homes to
perform simple home repairs, wheelchair/walker repairs, and grab bar
installations.
The SnowBusters program connects members of the community
with seniors who face challenges clearing snow from sidewalks around their
home, oftentimes leading to a fine from the city. After a storm hits, volunteers
visit seniors’ homes to shovel snow, provide friendly interactions, and promote
safety and peace of mind. In the spring, summer and fall, YardBusters
volunteers provide basic yard cleanup for seniors who are facing the challenge
of maintaining their yards.
Cultivate has been a station of the AmeriCorps Seniors
Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) since 1972. Cultivate helps volunteers
ages 55 and better to match with a volunteer experience that matches their
interests.
File of Life is an emergency preparedness file that promotes
safety and peace of mind. It is the first thing that emergency personnel looks
for when they enter your home. File of Life provides important information
about your medical history, physician info, and medications all in one place,
in case of emergency.
