Stated Purpose:
The Educational Video Center (EVC) is a non-profit youth media arts organization founded in 1984 dedicated to teaching documentary video as a means to develop the artistic, critical literacy and career skills of young people, while nurturing their idealism and commitment to social change.

Year, State Incorporated:
1984, NY

Through EVCs culturally responsive media arts programming, students improve their academic and career goals, going on to lead enriching lives as leaders in their communities and professions.  EVCs Youth Documentary Workshop, New Media Arts Apprenticeship and Professional Development Programs are building the next generation of diverse storytellers and media professionals that are critically needed in these challenging and tumultuous times.  We fundamentally believe that one of the most effective and sustainable ways for historically-marginalized communities to build power is by reclaiming their own narratives through media production thereby promoting equity and confronting systemic inequity.

For the year ended August 31, 2023, Educational Video Center's program expenses were:

Special Projects $331,236
