Jericho Project meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
Jericho Project empowers individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity by providing housing and person-centered services to address social inequities. Founded in 1983 by three Episcopal churches in Manhattan, Jericho believes that housing is a human right. We pair permanent housing with wraparound services so that every person we serve can achieve stability, independence, and dignity. Our Housing First model removes barriers to entry and meets people where they are, with the tools and relationships they need to rebuild their lives.
Year, State Incorporated:
1983, NY
Jericho Project operates more than 750 units of supportive housing across eight residences in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn, including 80 single adult and 60 family apartments via our scatter-site programs. Each year, we serve nearly 3,000 New Yorkers. Our Veterans Initiative provides housing, employment services, and wellness supports to more than 700 veterans annually through a continuum that includes rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, and career placement. Our Workforce Opportunities (WfO) program delivers individualized career counseling, job readiness training, and direct placement for residents who have been disconnected from the labor market. WfO includes targeted tracks for young adults ages 18 to 24 (KEYA) and for veterans (JVEP). The Jericho Therapy Program embeds licensed clinicians within our residences to provide free mental health care that supports long-term stability. Together, these programs form an integrated model that addresses the root causes of homelessness.
