The Felix Organization meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
"To provide inspiring opportunities and new experiences to enrich the lives of children who are growing up in the foster care system."
Year, State Incorporated:
2006, NY
The Felix Organization was founded in 2006 by famed Rock 'n' Roll, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels and Emmy Award-winning casting director, Sheila Jaffe. Both adopted and grateful to have been taken into loving families, they were inspired to use their resources and experience to enrich the lives of children growing up in the foster care system. They had no idea the impact this partnership would have on the lives of so many disadvantaged children. Since 2006, Felix has sent over 4,000 children to Camp Felix, an overnight camp designed to meet the unique needs of youth in foster care. 19 years since its inception, Felix now sponsors Camp Felix camps on the East Coast serving New York based foster youth and a camp on the West Coast serving Los Angeles based foster youth. In addition, Felix offers a host of year-round programs that have enriched the lives of over 18,000 foster children since our inception.
