The New York Center for Children (NYCC) provides trauma-focused therapy services to victims of child abuse, free of charge, for as long as their healing requires. Dedicated
to serving children for the past 29 years, NYCC delivers best-practice and personalized therapies to children and their families. NYCC also delivers groundbreaking training programs on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of child abuse, attended by medical students, doctors, nurses, and first responders worldwide. More than 20,000 professionals have been trained through NYCC’s educational programs.

Services: NYCC provides trauma-focused therapy services to help children and families heal from child abuse (sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence and neglect), free of charge, for as long as needed. NYCC provides therapy services to more than 125 children and families annually. NYCC trains 100 medical students and residents who come from across the country and around the world for 4-6 weeks residencies to gain skills in diagnosing and treating childhood abuse. NYCC conducts a year-long internship and externship training program for doctoral level psychology students and masters level social work students. NYCC offers ongoing child abuse awareness and prevention programs to schools and community organizations across NYC - educating teachers, childcare workers, lawyers, nurses, judges, police officers and other first responders on child abuse recognition and response. Approximately 1,000 individuals are trained by NYCC each year. NYCC offers ongoing parenting workshops highlighting healthy parenting and discipline practices.
