Stated Purpose:
Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Serving the eight counties of the Hudson Valley - Delaware, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester, the Chapter's mission is to ensure that every child residing in the Hudson Valley who qualifies for our services is is granted his or her one, true heartfelt wish.

Year, State Incorporated:
1986, NY

"A child must be referred for a wish by a parent, guardian or medical professional. The child may also refer his or herself for a wish. At the time of the referral, the child must be between the ages of two and a half to eighteen, and must have a life-threatening medical condition that is considered progressive, degenerative or malignant. Once a doctor has approved the child medically for a wish, trained wish granting volunteers meet with the child to determine his or her one true heartfelt wish. Wishes fall into five categories: I wish to go, I wish to be, I wish to meet, I wish to have, and I wish to give. Once a wish has been decided, our office works to efficiently create, plan and complete the wish for each eligible child."
