Make-A-Wish Arizona meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Year, State Incorporated:
1980, AZ
Also Known As:
Make-A-Wish Foundation Of Arizona Inc
At Make-A-Wish Arizona, the mission is simple: Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Established in Phoenix, Arizona in 1980 and inspired by 7-year-old Chris Greicius who wished to be a police officer, the organization has granted over 550,000 wishes globally, becoming the largest wishgranting organization. Once the child is referred and found to be medically eligible, volunteers are paired with the Wish Kid help the child discover a wish that will bring them the greatest joy. The child can Wish to Be… Wish to Meet… Wish to Have… Wish to Go … or Wish to See… Wishes span from wishing to go to
college, to be a superhero or a princess, to go on a trip, to have their bedroom decorated, or to meet their favorite celebrity.
Every eligible child needs your help to grant their wish and create a turning point in their treatment and recovery. Beyond granting wishes, the organization delivers hope, joy, and strength, serving as a beacon of hope amid medical challenges. Make-A-Wish Arizona is doing much more than simply granting wishes – they are creating memories that last a lifetime.
