Lighthouse Academy at Newburg is an approved and endorsed site for Out of School Time Learning in partnership with Jefferson County Public Schools. It provides tutoring and mentoring to at-risk children in kindergarten through 8th grade. The organization focuses on the whole child and provides academic, enrichment, social emotional learning, violence prevention, and leadership programs all at no charge to its students. Program offerings include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), literacy, arts enrichment, SEL programming, choir, karate, field trips, summer camp, computer programs, and more. It also reaches out to high school students through its Boys 2 Men and Halo girls programs. Lighthouse Academy at Newburg holds a free annual Health Clinic that provides physical exams for children and adults. Students receive free backpacks filled with school supplies at this event. All programs are free and available to all regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, special needs, or religious preferences.
