Stated Purpose:
Family Advocates works to strengthen families and keep kids safe by empowering everyday people to protect and enrich the lives of youth.
Year, State Incorporated:
1978, ID
Also Known As:
Family Advocate Program, Inc.
Family Advocates houses two programs to help end child abuse. Their prevention program, Family Strengthening Education, is built on the STRONG framework and the Five Protective Factors. This program reaches all populations and demographics, teaches and trains them with skills needed to strengthen bonds within families and sends them into the community, armed with strategies needed to build a healthier family unit, reducing stress and advancing hope. Their advocacy program, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), recruits, trains, and supports volunteer child advocates, called Guardians ad Litem, as well as pro-bono attorneys to represent these volunteers, in the Fourth Judicial District (Ada, Boise, Elmore, and Valley Counties of Idaho). These volunteers investigate cases of child abuse, neglect, and abandonment and then advocate for those children in court to make sure the child's voice is heard.
For the year ended June 30, 2021, Family Advocates's program expenses were:
| CASA | $1,646,358 |
