C.H.O.I.C.E.’s Dare to Dream Sports Leadership & Mentoring Program provides cross-age mentoring, group counseling, individual counseling, positive youth development training, and case management to ages 9-19 facing the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). The nonprofit’s Giving Leaders Options In Reaching Aspirations (GLORIA) program provides workshops to help the community by bringing awareness and knowledge to young people and adults working with young people on how trauma impacts communal outcomes. In addition, they help young people and adults garner healthy ways to address trauma and how it affects themselves and the communities we make home. C.H.O.I.C.E.’s Community Youth Services program provides group counseling for up to 15 adolescents from 13 to 18 years of age who are at risk of engaging in risky behaviors, especially substance misuse or abuse, to gain resilience skills and coping mechanisms. Sixteen weekly sessions focus on participants learning seven concepts to aid in achieving program goals. Students are referred to this program by community partners.
