Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Chicago (BBBSChi) provides measurable, outcome-based services to children and families across the entire metropolitan Chicago area through collaboration with donors, community partners, and volunteers. The organization matches children (“Littles”) with volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) and support the match throughout their relationship, providing safety and quality measures, as well as activity and goals. BBBSChi offers two core programs; Community Based Mentoring where youth are matched one-to-one with trained adult mentors (matches spend time exploring new educational opportunities, developing new skills and hobbies); and Site-Based Mentoring which is a structured one-toone mentoring program that takes place at a school, corporation or community center. BBBSChi’s makes meaningful, monitored matches between Bigs and Littles from age 7 through high school graduation. BBBSChi programs are proven to keep kids in school, out of trouble and on a path to post graduate success.
