Arden Shore Child and Family Services meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.

Stated Purpose:
The mission of Arden Shore Child and Family Services is to rebuild children's lives in a caring community. Formed in 1898 by members of the Glencoe Congregational Church, Arden Shore began as a summer respite camp for mothers and children. Over the years the facility and location has changed, but the driving force has always been to build the well-being of children and families.

Year, State Incorporated:
1906, IL

Arden Shore envisions a future free of abuse and neglect, and full of opportunity--where our community is a healthy place to live, work, and play. But the root causes of childhood trauma and maltreatment are complex. That is why Arden Shore worked hard to secure multiple certifications in mental health, substance abuse, and foster care and maintains strong collaborative relationships with other community service providers— working to provide the resources families need to ensure a home is a place where everyone can thrive.

In 2022, Arden Shore's dedicated team of experts provided skilled care and resources to more than 1,850 children and adults—keeping families healthy, safe, and together.

Arden Shore Child and Family Services Primary Programs
• Intact Family Preservation Services keep families together. Arden Shore’s largest program, early intervention keeps families intact by providing resources, like mental health care and skill-based parenting programs, that help caregivers construct and strengthen healthy relationships. Served 844 in 2022;
• Foster Care Services protect kids and strengthen families so children can return home. Arden Shore’s program is one of only two programs in northern Illinois accepting foster care cases and remains deeply committed to keeping families safe and together–limiting the impacts of separation whenever possible. Served 728 in 2022;
• Behavioral Health & Support Services (BHSS) is a certified Community Mental Health Clinic (CMHC) and serves participants engaged in other Arden Shore programs (Foster Care and Intact), as well as the community at large. Services are evidence-based, trauma-informed, holistic, and person and familycentered.

As one of the only organizations in Lake County that accepts Medicaid, provides therapy in both English and Spanish, and now offers services regardless of ability to pay, Arden Shore's program is an essential and effective resource. Served 286 in 2022.
