A Kid Again, Inc. meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
MISSION STATEMENT:
To Foster hope, happiness, and healing for families raising kids with life-threatening conditions.
Year, State Incorporated:
1995, OH
PROGRAMS & SERVICES:
Adventures:
An adventure is a fun filled and exciting opportunity for our families to take their focus away from the daily hardships that are a result of having a child with a life threatening illness. We start out with a destination or event, and then our loving volunteers enhance it with creative ideas for family fun and friendship. Then, we add prizes and treats for good measure and end up with a wonderful experience filled with joy, laughter and sweet memories that a family can treasure. When you think like a child, you will make a child smile!
Hospital Visitation:
Because we realize that hospital stays can be lengthy, lonely and boring, especially for an energetic child, our volunteers visit children every week, year round in the Hematology/Oncology floors at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Volunteers bring a wagon filled with small gifts for the children to choose from, such as a craft to make, a movie to watch or a plush toy to comfort them through their stay. Currently, Columbus is the only chapter that provides this program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
