Hope Lives! The Lydia Dody Breast Cancer Support Center meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.

Due to leadership transition and operational restructuring, BBB has provisionally passed this organization on Standards 8 and 9.

Stated Purpose:
"We exist to add quality of life to the breast cancer patient by providing services and products that help manage the physical, emotional, social, and financial side effects of treatment."

Year, State Incorporated:
2001, CO

The program supports women currently in breast cancer treatment who reside in Larimer or Weld County or are receiving cancer treatment in these counties. The program is service-based designed to manage the emotional and physical side effects throughout treatment at no cost to clients.

These services are made available by the organization’s contractual agreements with certified and licensed professionals known as Provider(s). The Provider is reimbursed for services at an agreed upon reduced rate by the organization. The client therefore does not receive a billing statement.

The Program Manager oversees client case management. This employee orients new clients to the program and makes suggestions as to services that complement their treatment plan and works in conjunction with the oncologist and hospital system. Length of service availability is based on treatment plan and diagnosis at the time of acceptance into the program. Follow up management takes place to determine changes in treatment, additional surgeries, and to become alert to additional resources needed. Services such as lymphatic massage, chiropractic care, wigs, transportation, and counseling are available through 51 providers in a variety of categories. On average the program currently carries a client base of 100 per month. This figure includes new and current clients, and those transitioning out of the program.
