Peterson Dumesnil House Foundation meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
To preserve the Peterson Dumesnil House as a landmark, providing the neighborhood a sense of historic identity; to serve as a gathering place for Crescent Hill; to find economically viable uses for the house; and to maintain it for future generations.
Year, State Incorporated:
1982, KY
Also Known As:
Peterson-Dumesnil House Foundation, Inc.
The historic Peterson Dumesnil House is used by eight nonprofit organizations. It hosts many community events, such as National Night Out, Easter Egg Hunt, July 4th Festival, Dessert with the Mayor, Spirit of Crescent Hill Awards, Crescent Hill Garden Club Tour, Chili Night, Cupola Concerts (outdoor free music concerts), Holiday Open House, and more. The Peterson Dumesnil House Foundation defines success when the house and grounds are filled with people enjoying the property at a planned event or just using it as their own park space. It defines success when it can raise the funds needed to maintain the historic home. Many times, these projects are not visible enhancements (roofs, gutters, electrical, etc.) but necessary to ensure the house is maintained for future generations.
