Looking for Lilith Theatre Company meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
Looking for Lilith is an ensemble theatre company that creates productions and programming through re-examining history and questioning today from women’s perspectives, a practice that frequently uncovers unheard voices. Its productions and programming serve adults, youth, and children locally, nationally, and internationally.
Year, State Incorporated:
2006, NY
Looking for Lilith has various outreach programs that are either educational or community based. The educational outreach includes three grade school (age appropriate) original productions of interactive theatre to resist bullying, five in-school workshops and/or residencies that range from how to cope with fear and anxiety to creating devised, youth-led theatre. Its community outreach this year consists of The Ancestors Project, an evolving community art making and performance project based on the stories of participants’ ancestors and how they have inspired and guided their descendants. There is also the ongoing Faith Stories Project, a decades-long endeavor aimed at empowering women in both Guatemala and the U.S. by artistically exploring the complexities of how faith affects their lives.
