Audiences Unlimited, Inc. meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
Audiences Unlimited, Inc. is a social services organization in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Year, State Incorporated:
1978, IN
Audiences Unlimited provided 1,458 arts programs for 34,015 audience members in health care or residential care facilities, day academies for individuals with disabilities, and councils on the aging. The programs take place on-site in the facilities for those who otherwise would not have the opportunity to experience professional music and cultural arts programs. In addition, Audiences Unlimited provided free tickets to 26 cultural venues and community performances for residents of partner facilities. Audiences Unlimited serves as a catalyst for uniting local artists and entertainers with the needs of their partner facilities by offering a variety of choices, such as soloists or duos, small Philharmonic ensembles, and bands as well as other styles of entertainment. AUI has 47 partner facilities throughout northeast Indiana that receive between two to fourteen programs per month. The In-Facility program offers residents the opportunity to experience arts performances and to be recognized on birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions. These programs encourage interaction and participation through singing along, dancing (including wheelchair dancing) and clapping. Individuals who lack mobility can smile, tap, and sway to the music. Interaction between the artists, other residents and staff energizes residents and forges a stronger sense of community among them. The Room-to-Room program provides bedfast residents the opportunity to experience music helping relieve prolonged periods of isolation from other activities and interaction with their peers. During fiscal 2023, 10,505 individuals participated in these programs at least once. Audiences Unlimited also offers year-long arts education and performance opportunities in music, dance, and theatre for individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities attending LIFE Adult Day Academy. Fifty adults participate in creating music and acting in theatre productions such as Around the World in 80 Days.
