Arts and Education Council meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
"To raise funds from the private sector to support the arts and arts education activities in the St. Louis metropolitan area."
Year, State Incorporated:
1963, MO
Allocations and grants to agencies for performing/visual arts and arts education services.
A&E strategically invests in programs and organizations – including nearly 100 grantees – across the bi-state region that inspire kids, spark innovation, build bridges, energize communities and enrich lives through the arts.
One of the most powerful examples of A&E’s impact is the organization’s Centene Center for the Arts, a 4-story building located in the heart of the Grand Center Arts District that is home to 20 twenty organizations of all sizes and artistic disciplines. Since 2006, the Center has provided the resources and community these organizations need to thrive, growing their impact across our region. And, even more benefit from programming in the incubator’s Catalyst Innovation Lab. A&E’s Centene Center for the Arts is a place where artists and arts organizations thrive and their impact in the community grows.
As the oldest and only entirely privately supported arts funder serving the bi-state region, A&E is an opportunity for St. Louisans to join together to create a real, lasting impact on this remarkably vibrant arts community we all call home. Much of that giving comes through workplace giving campaigns, which are increasingly cited as powerful drivers of employee engagement.
